fly your thing

This semester all 4th year design students at UF will work on some sort of housing study, some are looking at edge cities such as the burroghs around Orlando and Atlanta, some will look at working with structural and mechanical engineers to fully realize a design and some will take on a competition to re-use an abandoned portion of history. My class in particular will be dealing with a piece of NYC known as the High Line. I is the remains of the old elevated train tracks in New York and from what I can gather, there are several people that thing the tracks should be reworked into something usefull rather than just torn down and scrapped. Mostly they are looking at turning it into a promenade.

What does it all mean?

It means I get to go on a trip to NYC! Our plane leaves on tuesday morning and we shall return on sunday. My first time there I had no idea what to expect and couldn't help running around in a frenzy trying to take it all in at once, I can't say this time will be much different... ;)
